Give yourself to others.....know that it may be YOU that they need in that moment & at that time. Don't wait for them to ask for your help or for them to ask you for something, just be there by their side unconditionally loving them.
I never knew how much I needed some of my friends & my sister until recently & I thank God every day for them. Without them.......well.......I'm just really glad that I'm not without them & that they stand by me.
